Requirements for Charitable Organizations

What applies to nonprofits:

Charitable and nonprofit organizations are subject to the same civil rights protections as other employers, with some specific considerations.

Your requirements:

  • Sexual harassment prevention training (for employees and volunteers)

  • If reporting grants to other organization of $1,000,000 or more, a corporation must publish demographic data of the corporation’s directors and officers, including their race, ethnicity, gender, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, and gender identity for at least the next three years

  • Allow for individuals to decline to disclose any or all personal information to

  • Anti-discrimination protections in employment

  • Fair housing requirements (if you provide housing services)
