How to Access Training
There are multiple ways to access training:
Attend Public Training Sessions
IDHR offers free, virtual training sessions open to anyone. These sessions are taught by certified trainers with more than 10 years of experience in civil and human rights.
Individuals can attend to fulfill their training requirement or to learn about sexual harassment prevention.
Request Group Training
Organizations can request customized training sessions for their team. Group training lets you train multiple employees at once and focus on the most relevant topics for your workplace.
Customized training needs to be requested a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks before the scheduled training date.

What is a model training program?
A model training program is a complete curriculum that you can download and use to train your own employees. The program includes all materials you need, including presentations, handouts, and delivery instructions.

Enforcement and Penalties
What happens if an employer does not comply with training requirements?
If an organization doesn’t provide required sexual harassment prevention training, they may receive something called a notice to show cause. This notice provides 30 days to comply with the training requirements.
If an organization isn’t compliant within 30 days, IDHR will petition the Illinois Human Rights Commission to issue a civil penalty against your organization.
